The Children’s Forest of Central Oregon offers a variety of nature-based family programs for all ages. These programs offer opportunities to learn and play as a family and explore the many incredible local parks and natural areas in our region. Kids On-the-Move is a family program focused on outdoor exploration, fun physical activity, and nutrition for 0-5 year olds, plus family. The program is offered in partnership with OSU-Extension’s Nutrition Education Program. The program is being offered in La Pine and Redmond in summer 2022. Register here.
Storytime in the Park
Join Crook County Library and the Children’s Forest of Central Oregon for Storytime in the Park this summer. We’ll share stories, games, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities for budding scientists. Each week we’ll meet in a different Prineville park, exploring a new nature theme. Geared for ages 4-7, but all ages are welcome.

Tiny Explorers encourages new parents to kickstart a healthy life enjoying the outdoors by getting their little ones outdoors starting at a young age. The program is targeted at new families with infants and toddlers, from birth to 3 years old. Tiny Explorers in not being offered in 2022.
Discover Nature Festival
Offered in partnership with Bend Park and Recreation District and Deschutes National Forest each September, this FREE festival features over 35 nature education, outdoor recreation, and health and wellness activities for families to enjoy. For more information click here. Our 2022 Discover Nature Festival will be held on Saturday, September 17 at Alpenglow Park.
