Family Programs

 

The Children’s Forest of Central Oregon offers a variety of nature-based family programs for all ages.  These programs offer opportunities to learn and play as a family and explore the many incredible local parks and natural areas in our region.  Programs include a blend of educational activities, recreation, games, and arts and crafts.  For dates, locations, and details for all of our programs, visit our calendar.  All of our programs are free!

 

Program Descriptions

 

Kids On-the-Move

Kids On-the-Move is a family program focused on outdoor exploration, fun physical activity, and nutrition for 0-5 year olds, plus family.  The program is offered in partnership with OSU-Extension’s Nutrition Education Program.  The program is being offered in La Pine and Redmond in summer 2023.  Register here.

 

Storytime in the Park

Join Crook County Library and the Children’s Forest of Central Oregon for Storytime in the Park this summer.  We’ll share stories, games, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities for budding scientists.  Each week we’ll meet in a different Prineville park, exploring a new nature theme.  Geared for ages 4-7, but all ages are welcome.

 

Discover Nature Festival

Offered in partnership with Bend Park and Recreation District and Deschutes National Forest each September, this FREE festival features over 35 nature education, outdoor recreation, and health and wellness activities for families to enjoy.
