Cog Wild: Summer Program Intern

35 hours/week (300 hours)

Cog Wild is a family business that provides daily guided mountain bike rides and skills instruction to both locals and visitors to Central Oregon. Cascadia Junior Cycling is for youth who love to ride bikes. They provide camps, clubs, and teams for riders of all levels.  Learn more about Cog Wild here.

A typical day…
The intern will support CJC’s summer camps for riders ages 5 to 8, supporting the adult coaches on rides and all aspects of camp. Interns will also support with camp logistics, setup, and other parts of daily operations associated with running a small guiding business.

Skills learned…
The intern will gain skills in mountain bike coaching and working with youth in an outdoor setting. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of operating a small business.

Schedule and other details…
CJC’s summer camps run M-Th, from 8am- 1pm from June 24-August 22. Additional work will occur on Fridays or in the afternoons after camp. Cog Wild’s office is located at LOGE Hotel, and interns need to provide their own transportation.

Job requirements…
The intern should be an intermediate level mountain biker with experience riding on the trails around Bend. Interest in working with kids is a must!
